Leaving Europe wasn’t fun, but knowing that I was coming home to a band new shiny 24″ iMac made it a lot easier. I now finally have a workspace, editing photos will heavenly! Here it is:
I’m also directionally challenged so I went out today and bought the Garmin 255w. It’s going to make my summer so much easier.

While I was in Serbia, Beograd I was asked to do an interview with a reporter that works for a newspaper. The interview was published in Gradjanski List which is a newsaper in Serbia, Novi Sad. Here is the link to the site. Unfortunately, there is no english translation.

Since I left before this was published I don’t have the actual newspaper, but I do have a photo of it. The photos in the newspaper are of Sanja Blazević and Olivia Arden.

Edit: Apparently google translates, which I didn’t know. Here is the link to the translated version.

It’s kind of, really off, but you get the idea.
Thanks Karl!

I should be sleeping but instead I’m listening to the rain, and also the family sleeping. It’s our last night here and as much as I am ready to go back to work and go back to my life, I don’t want to leave. People always talk about their family and how much they hate to visit, this and that. I guess it’s hard to appreciate something that’s right in front of your nose. Every year we come here it’s for longer and longer, but it never seems long enough. From 15-35 days, we always need more. That’s something I don’t feel bad being greedy about.
I’ve met some amazing people here this time around. People willing to do anything to help me out, honest, genuine people and I am more then happy. People always ask me if I’d ever move back to Serbia, and the answer is no, I never would. If my family was not here, I wouldn’t be here. There isn’t much tying me anywhere, wherever they are, I am.
I’ve realized it’s hard for me to shoot film. I have so much, and I haven’t shot much of it. Today I put some black and white film in the Holga and messed around the house. I may have a hard time taking film photos but I’m an expert at digital, seeing as how I have over 1,500+ photos. That’s after I’ve gone through and sorted them all out, and deleted the bad ones. I even made a new Catalog in Lightroom called Europe 2009, so I know exactly where they all are.
This comes as a surprise but it took me exactly 33 days to spend 500 dollars in one day. I ended up buying leather gloves, and a leather jacket. One for me, and one for my cousin. No one would let me change money, or pay for anything. The plan is to come back next year, and take over Europe. When I get back to the states, I’m continuing to work and looking forward to New York next spring. We have to be up at 3:30am to be at the airport by 5am for a flight that leaves at 7am. We are expected to land at 2pm, USA time. I am going to have the worst jet lag ever!
I have a new set of photos from two nights ago with my cousin and a panorama I made today.

“The NATO Bombing of Yugoslavia (code-name Operation Allied Force or, by the United States, Operation Noble Anvil)[19] was NATO’s military operation against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia during the Kosovo War. The strikes lasted from March 24, 1999 to June 11, 1999. The NATO bombing marked the second major combat operation in NATO’s history, following the September 1995 Operation Deliberate Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Today my cousin took me to the bombed buildings that sill remain a huge part of Serbian history, mainly because you can see them on a daily basis. These are the buildings that have not been fixed after the bombing. There is a lot more buildings that I did not capture.
